What's an SRP Class like?

Teaching and sharing my passion....

Some of you may already know that I am a teacher as well as a photographer but if you didn't know yep I sure am. :) Teaching adults is my other passion and I'd say photography and teaching hold equal parts of my soul...together they complete the question: "Who do I want to be when I grow up?"

While my Bachelors is in Communication with focus in photo and web journalism my first Masters is in Adult Education and Training and my second I'm working on is in Military History with a focus in U.S. History. So yep there you have it I'm not only a camera/computer nerd I'm also a history buff who loves teaching too.

I combined my loves for the first time on April 27th and taught my first "official" Basic Photography Class at Chalk Ridge Falls in Belton, TX. I had a blast and so did my students. Below are some photos of me helping the students line of shots and then a photo of the same shot I took with my camera. I've also included a short video of the experience. Enjoy!

Thank you to my amazing husband for taking the photos of me teaching as well as the video...I don't know that I would be as successful as I am without his support and encouragement.

Combining Work and Family...is there a balance?

It was truly a beautiful Saturday afternoon on April 20th. I decided to take my children and a few of their friends along with me for the day since it was a Noon to 6pm shoot...this way I got to sneak in quality time in between my sessions and their friends could keep my kiddos occupied while I was actually working.

Even the hubby came along to help me if needed and as an extra pair of hands for the six children we brought along with us. I know I sound nuts knowing I'd be working and bringing along not only my own three children but three of their friends as well...but it went very well.

Below are a few shots from the sessions and you'll get to see my family who are a BIG part of who I am too....ENJOY!

Editing all work or all play?

I definitely have to say that editing is work and play for me. When I upload sessions into Lightroom it's like opening presents that I know are going to be simply AMAZING with my finishing touches!

I mean what's not to LOVE?
